About ME

"Keep your head, heels and standards high!"

The idea to start this web page arose when an attempted project unfortunately did not come to fruition (but everything happens for a reason, right?). In March of 2019, a friend who worked for a media company approached me to be the host of a new podcast that his company was adding focused on a “woman executive in corporate America”. I jumped at the opportunity, however, after recording 7 different episodes, the company decided to eliminate their podcast division, and my friend was laid off. After all of the time and effort we had put into what we considered some great podcasts with some compelling content, I knew that there had to be another way to continue… and so my website was born, and here I am.

A Little Background –

I have never been the woman who had a “10-year plan”. Heck, sometimes I don’t even have a 1-year plan. But I have been fortunate to end up where I am today as a National Sales Director for a multi-million dollar healthcare software company by trusting my experience and the guidance of some great mentors along the way.

My path has been an interesting one (but whose hasn’t?). I started my “career” in marketing (sports marketing to be exact) for the large corporate company, Turner Broadcasting. After realizing that I no longer wanted to be a “small fish in a big pond”, I took a chance on a small startup company and pivoted to healthcare marketing. I was the 12th employee of that corporation and wore a ton of hats as we grew the company as well as our own experience and skill sets. After developing the marketing department, I transitioned into sales. Our CEO at the time had asked me to consider a sales position and promised me that if I hated it, I could go back to marketing. I loved it… and that decision began the journey in sales that I never expected to take but for which I am forever grateful.

Little did I know that this “small company” would rapidly grow to a multi-million dollar company with more than 200 employees and a reputation in the industry as one of the best healthcare software solutions out there. Nor did I ever imagine that I would be a part of it and reap the benefits of a buyout. After 12 years at this company (which is still thriving today), I left to “spread my wings” and use the knowledge that I had gained in several areas (marketing, sales, account management, implementations, integrations, etc.) to take on new challenges.

Since that experience, I have been fortunate to be a part of several different companies of many different sizes and have paved a path that I never would have expected to pave as a female sales executive specializing in building, growing, and thriving sales departments and staff. My work ethic and knowledge have guided me and resulted in a successful career of which I am most proud. Though I’m thankful for where I am today, my resume is not what drives me or ultimately “fills my bucket”… my passion is as a coach and mentor. That is what I value the most. And that is what brings me here, to share what I know and help where I can.

The Focus of my Website –

The intent of the content I provide is to cover topics that young professionals need to know to make their mark in the professional world and to stand out and succeed in corporate America. I’ve learned that sometimes things that I think are “obvious” to me are only obvious because of my history.  Additionally, as much as we would like to believe that it’s an even playing field out there, the truth is that’s not always the case. It’s important as a woman in corporate America to know how to navigate certain situations when society often still sees it as a “man’s world”. I’ve been fortunate to have some great mentors throughout my career and am excited to be able to share my knowledge and experience with women (especially young women) who may not be as lucky to have strong, powerful women in their corner.

I’m so happy you’re here to follow along and hope that I provide some valuable content, lessons, and tips that you can use to benefit your own career and path.
